VIDA’s Exemplary Teacher Trainers: Lead Teacher Trainer, Jen Eddins and Teacher Trainer, Dr. Ashley Davis

Jen Eddins is an E-RYT 200, Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, personal trainer, health and fitness blogger, and published author. A highly sought-after yoga teacher, presenter, and yoga teacher trainer, Jen leads yoga workshops and trainings throughout the United States. In 2018, after teaching numerous yoga teacher trainings in Charlotte, NC, Jen signed-on as the Lead Teacher Trainer for VIDA Hot Yoga.

Jen’s extensive career in yoga and fitness, combined with her distinctive ability to authentically present yoga history, philosophy and practice add to her appeal as a lead teacher trainer. Some of Jen’s unique contributions as a teacher trainer include her ability to teach safe and effective hands-on-assists, expert cuing, and intelligent sequencing. Jen’s teaching in the classroom is comparable to the way she teaches yoga in the studio: a very no-nonsense approach that is enjoyable and challenging but provides structure in an optimal environment for yogis to reach their full potential.

Dr. Ashley Davis has master’s and doctorate degrees in health care specialties and has taught anatomy and physiology at the college and university level. Ashley’s academic endeavors combined with her 20-year career in health and fitness make her a unique asset to VIDA’s 200-hour RYT program.

Under Ashley’s direction, students of VIDA’s 200-hour RYT program gain core knowledge and fundamental principles of anatomy and physiology that prepare them to teach yoga that is backed by science. Ashley utilizes anatomical models, case studies and relevant research as teaching adjuncts in the classroom. Current evidence-based research and anecdotal information are utilized to teach biomechanics, anatomical terminology, alignment and neuromuscular dynamics. As an academic and a yoga teacher, Ashley is able to present anatomy and physiology in an interesting way with first-hand experience and knowledge.
